Founded in 1948, LARSSON™ is a leading solution provider to the world-wide starch industry. Over the decades, LARSSON has developed deep expertise in the entire starch process, offering tailored solutions for various sources such as cassava, potato, wheat, corn and pea. Our esteemed customer base enjoys the many benefits of LARSSON patents, advanced machines, equipment, and technologies, including the complete wet process, dewatering, starch recovery and drying.
In addition to our core focus on starch, LARSSON has expanded its capabilities to include processing and drying technologies for protein and fibers. Our innovative solutions meet the challenging demands of yield, efficiency, hygiene, and sustainability, ensuring we serve diverse industries with cutting-edge technologies.
The LARSSON head office and manufacturing plant are located in Bromölla, Sweden. Since 2007, LARSSON has operated a trading company in China, and expanded its global presence with a branch in Brazil in 2015. We have a strong presence in Thailand and it has gradually increased over the last 20 years, and in 2024 we also opened a Thai branch office. Furthermore, we have highly qualified sales and service representations in key areas such as Indonesia, Vietnam, and beyond.
With a strong network of specialized partners, LARSSON can deliver a wide range of solutions to meet the evolving needs of our customers worldwide, including also modified starches, sweeteners, and more. Despite our global reach, LARSSON remains an independent, family-owned company, proudly owned and operated by the Larsson family.

LARSSON was founded in 1948 and is today a leading manufacturer of process equipment for the starch industry. LARSSON has built up a substantial bank of expertise that covers the entire starch process in different adaptations for several starch sources.
LARSSON History
In the end of the 1940s, Jörgens father, Gösta Larsson, had become engaged in his father, Erik Larsson, work. An education at technical college and some clever inventions resulted in several patents of his own for starch machines.
In 1950, he built his own workshop and also began manufacturing his own machines. At that time production was generally on a small-scale and there were over 140 starch factories in Sweden.
The actual processes were also developed and it was Gösta who led this work, with his position becoming more consolidated both in Sweden and the rest of Scandinavia. It became more and more difficult for their competitors. “We had got off to a good start.
Our products were more developed and adapted and today as is well known we are a world leader and we don’t intend to relinquish this position,” says Gösta.
